NEWS: Tuesday 24th January. This years Oscar contenders have been announced with many of the films currently showing at the Pavilion receiving nominations. Starting Friday 27th January, The Descendants picks up five including best picture and best actor for George Clooney. Our most popular film at the moment War Horse gets six nominations and is also a best picture contender. Rooney Mara is up for best actress for her performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which has four other nominations. Puss in Boots has a best animation nod while finally (and it surely comes as no surprise!) Meryl Streep is up for best actress for her incredible portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, which also has a nomination for best make up! It's definitely Oscar season here at the Pavilion, so make sure you come along and decide for yourself who the winners should be!
